The College of Interdisciplinary Studies (CISTU), Thammasat University, continues to expand its global engagement by fostering international collaboration through academic and cultural exchange. On January 16-17, 2025, CISTU welcomed students and faculty from Pukyong National University (PKNU), South Korea, in a series of enriching activities aimed at knowledge-sharing and cross-cultural understanding.
📚 International Cooperation and the SDGs

The visit began with a special lecture on "International Cooperation toward Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Current Progress and Future Prospects," delivered by Assistant Professor Chol Bunnag, Director of SDG Move. This session, organized by Associate Professor Phakpoom Tippakoon and Dr. Ingwei Huang, provided an insightful discussion on the global efforts toward achieving the SDGs. Students from both institutions gained valuable perspectives on sustainability, policy implementation, and future challenges, reinforcing the importance of international collaboration in addressing global issues.
🤝 CISTU-PKNU Seminar & Culture Night
On January 17, 2025, the partnership between CISTU and PKNU continued with a Seminar and Culture Night, featuring:
✅ Academic Presentations: Students from both universities showcased their research and exchanged insights on various topics, enhancing their interdisciplinary learning experience.

✅ TPC Campus Tour: PKNU students explored Thammasat University’s Tha Prachan campus, visiting key landmarks such as the Pridi Banomyong Library, Pridi Banomyong Memorial, and the Bodhi Courtyard. The tour was guided by CISTU students and student organizations, offering an engaging look into the university’s history and academic culture.

✅ Culture Night: A lively evening of cultural exchange, where students participated in traditional games and shared their culinary heritage—PKNU students prepared Kimbap, while CISTU students introduced them to Som Tam (Thai papaya salad). The event strengthened friendships and deepened cultural appreciation.
