Bachelor of Science Program in Sustainable Management (SUMA)
Award Title: B.Sc. (Sustainable Management)

About

In today’s world, sustainability is reshaping economies, societies, environments, and the future of work.

In response to these global shifts, Thammasat University has developed the Bachelor of Science Program in Sustainability Management (SUMA) to prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and interdisciplinary mindset needed to address complex sustainability challenges.

SUMA is backed by strong university-wide support and was developed as a collaborative initiative across five academic units of Thammasat University: the College of Interdisciplinary Studies, the Faculty of Social Administration, the Puey Ungphakorn School of Development Studies, the Faculty of Science and Technology, and the Faculty of Engineering.

CISTU serves as the lead unit responsible for coordinating and driving the program’s development.

The program is designed to integrate knowledge from the social sciences, science, technology, engineering, development studies, and management. This interdisciplinary structure enables students to understand sustainability across multiple dimensions and to apply what they learn to real-world situations.

SUMA has also been developed in partnership with Global Compact Network Thailand (GCNT), linking academic knowledge with the needs of external stakeholders and the evolving sustainability landscape. Through this collaboration, the program is connected to a wider network of more than 140 leading organizations, helping ensure that its curriculum remains relevant to emerging priorities such as ESG, BCG, Green Skills, and future sustainability careers.

Taken together, SUMA reflects Thammasat University’s commitment to creating forward-looking academic programs that respond to world challenges through interdisciplinary education, institutional collaboration, and strong engagement with the real world.
